A warehouse occupied by Baptista’s Bakery LLC recently sold for $17.75 million to an affiliate of Pennsylvania real estate investor Exeter Property Group, according to state records.
Baptista’s, now part of the Campbell Soup Co., first laid plans in 2013 to open operations in the almost 250,000-square-foot warehouse. Milwaukee developer Zilber Ltd. worked with Baptista’s on that deal and, according to state records, sold the property to Exeter. That is likely to be one of the larger Milwaukee County industrial sales of the year.
Baptista’s main facility is at 4625 W. Oakwood Park Drive. The warehouse at 10000 S. Franklin Drive now belongs to an affiliate of Exeter Property Group of Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, a real estate investor with holdings across the U.S.
Snack maker Baptista’s, once locally owned, has been expanding in Franklin since selling to Snyder’s-Lance Inc. in 2014. Snyder’s-Lance was acquired by Campbell Soup in 2018. The Franklin operation reported about 100 new jobs this year, and 80 in 2018 on top of the nearly 400 already in the city, according to Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. records. The company has invested $18.2 million in capital improvements over those two years, according to WEDC.
