The latest holiday kringle from Racine’s O&H Danish Bakery is inspired by red velvet cake.
Santa’s Secret Christmas Kringle debuted this week. The pastry features red velvet cake layered with vanilla pudding, according to a news release. The kringle is topped with frosting and garnished with Christmas sprinkles.
Last year’s holiday kringle was inspired by eggnog.
“Traditions are at the core of our family and business,” O&H co-owner Eric Olesen said in the announcement. “We wanted to create a kringle that embodied the spirit, joy and tradition of Santa for families around the world. Our hope is that our holiday lineup will make you want to celebrate the season with family and friends over delicious treats.”
Olesen is a third-generation owner of the bakery. Christian Olesen created the company in the late 1940s after emigrating from Denmark in 1924.
The new kringle is available at O&H’s five locations in Racine, Sturtevant and Oak Creek, as well as through e-commerce. O&H makes up to 7,000 kringles each day during December, according to the release.
The holiday line also includes the Christmas kringle, which is filled with chocolate cake and peppermint, and A Very Danish Christmas kringle, inspired by the Scandinavian dessert Risalamande.
