Sprecher Brewing Co., a Glendale-based craft beer and soda producer, has acquired a Richfield-based warehouse owner and operator to expand Sprecher’s production capabilities.

Sprecher acquired Excent LLC, which is located at W210 N12805 Gateway Xing in Richfield. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Excent operates an automated robotic production line, which provides packaging services for major brands including ZOA Energy, Carbliss and Press. It occupies a 128,000-square-foot packing facility.

Sprecher CEO Sharad Chadha said the acquisition is part of Sprecher’s aggressive growth plans. Most recently, Sprecher acquired the Ooh La Lemin Lemonade brand from Kona Gold Beverage.

“We are excited about this purchase because it fits with our vertical integration growth strategy in that it is giving us the additional capability for variety packaging,” Chadha said in a press release. “This type of packaging has exploded in growth in recent years, not only at club stores but also as a sampling vehicle for consumers, and we are looking forward to being able to offer variety packs of our amazing Sprecher craft sodas in cans very soon.”

Chadha added that the acquisition gives the company additional warehouse space, which is crucial because Sprecher has reached capacity at its Glendale headquarters.

Sprecher is based at 701 W. Glendale Ave. It currently has about 135 employees and operates two shifts per week. Since 2020, when Chadha and a group of investors purchased the company, Sprecher has increased its distribution 330% to over 23,000 retail locations.

Sales have tripled, and Sprecher reports an average growth rate of 35% for its craft beverages.

Excent currently employs 15 people. Sprecher said that most of the employees will join Sprecher.
