With nearly half of our existing working population due to retire, ensuring there is a pipeline of talent for the food and beverage industry is more important than ever. Additionally, talent is required if we are to double our food production by the year 2050 to feed a global population of 9.7 billion.
Since 2014, over 2,000 high school students have met with an impressive collection of exhibitors, including ingredients, consumer product and packaging makers, grocery retail, and professional service firms focused on the industry. This year we’ll be at the beautiful Mount Mary University campus, home of the Milwaukee area’s only Food Safety Bachelor’s and Master’s degree program. Hear from industry leaders and innovators, participate in interactive discovery activities for valuable hands-on learning, and share your ideas for feeding the world.

Exhibiting as an Employer
Come prepared with an interactive discovery activity for valuable hands-on learning! Share applicable work-based learning options your employer provides (e.g. college internships, youth co-ops, job shadowing, etc.) and share your food stories with students. Your introductory discovery activity serves as a springboard to catch the attention of students while introducing your company, and should be interactive and short and simple, as new students will continue to flow to your table. Past activities have included testing out production and packaging equipment, trivia and guessing games, viewing food and beverage products under a microscope, and trying on protective gear. Be creative and think outside the box…and bringing samples is always a good idea!
